The Greatest News

Home > News & Events > The Greatest News

I recently received a letter from my good evangelist friend, Chuck Kempf.  Our church gladly supports the Kempfs in their good ministry of evangelism.  In his most recent prayer letter Brother Kempf opens with this that I wanted to share:

“When there is an event that is newsworthy, the media tends to go over and over that event until something else comes along to capture their attention.  It’s as though they become obsessed with the story and they bring it up in every newscast –they can’t stop talking about it.  I have been thinking about how that should parallel our activity as Christians.  We have the greatest news a person can hear and we should be committed to repeating that good news as often as we have opportunity.  The difference is that there will be no “new story” that can replace the Gospel message.  We must be as persistent in repeating the Good News as the news people are in repeating their short lived, temporal stories.  Whether through preaching or personal witness, we have a message that needs to be heard!”
